2010 (Spring) Certified Information Security Manager® (CISM®) Review Course |

The CISM® designation is designed to provide executive management with confidence that those earning the designation have the required knowledge and ability to manage information security. The domains of knowledge covered are highly streamlined and aligned with the roles and responsibilities of real-world information security managers. A CISM® Review Course organized by the ISACA (China Hong Kong Chapter) is scheduled to commence on 15th May 2010. This review course is designed to assist candidates planning to sit the CISM® examination held on Saturday, 12th June 2010. Register for the examination directly from ISACA International’s web site at www.isaca.org. The course shall be 13 hours in total, including two 6.5-hour sessions on Saturdays. The seminars will explain the CISM® examination process, provide guidance through sample questions and help you start preparing for the CISM® exam. The June 2010 examination will be administered on Saturday, 12th June 2009 worldwide, and Hong Kong is one of the exam centers.
A ten-week CISA ® Review Course organized by the ISACA ® (China Hong Kong Chapter), for candidates who need assistance in preparing for the CISA examination or would like to refresh their knowledge, is scheduled to commence on 27th February 2010. At the end of the Review Course, there will be an exam simulation and some exam tactics will be provided. Topic: Using CAATs for Combating Frauds In this seminar, the speaker will introduce the CAATs (Computer-Assisted Audit Techniques) serves as an important tool for auditors in their daily work. However, in recent years, CAATs is also used to uncover fraud and create an independent fraud prevention monitoring application. This session covers the usage of CAATs in such situations from various organisations in Asia, some of the tests that lead to the implementations and provide some tips for successful implementations. Actual demonstration of the software will be shown to highlight some of the usage of the tool to create a more realistic approach to using CAATs in fraud detection and prevention.
