Risks in Sensitive Information Handling and Disaster Recovery due to recent disasters

In the wake of recent disasters, notably the triple catastrophe in Japan, many critical operations, data centres and senior corporate executives have been moved to overseas locations for business continuity purposes. Although business operations could be effectively recovered, the process of switch-over of IT and operations during disaster recovery may put the data at risk, including customers’ personal data.

This forum aims to raise awareness and to find ways to address potential problems in preserving data privacy while maintaining business continuity during disaster.
