Topic User Habits and Domain Vulnerabilities: A Dive into ccTLD Cybersecurity Postures
Speaker

Arktos is the Cyber Security Manager at Hong Kong Internet Registration Corporation Limited (HKIRC). He is a veteran in the cybersecurity field with over 10+ years of experience over Asia Pacific in consulting and implementation. Currently he is responsible to promote the importance of cyber security to .hk users, raising their awareness on cybersecurity situations and enhancing the overall cyber resilience of Hong Kong against territory-wide cyber-attacks.

Synopsis In this seminar, we explore the critical role of country code Top-Level Domains (ccTLDs) in fostering a safer cyber environment. Attendees will gain insights into the comparative security features of ccTLDs versus generic TLDs (Top-Level Domains), the impact of user digital habits on domain security, and an in-depth analysis of DNS-related cyber attacks. The seminar will highlight how ccTLDs contribute to enhanced cybersecurity measures and why they are considered more secure than their .com counterparts. Through interactive discussions, case study reviews, and expert insights, participants will emerge with a comprehensive understanding of the intrinsic security benefits provided by ccTLDs and how they can be leveraged to strengthen a nation’s cyber defenses.
